MERIT

The band that started everything for Aux Records was Merit. Led by a powerhouse vocalist/guitarist in Brenna Merrit, the band found success nationally through a mix of touring and radio support.  Brenna, along with guitarist Hal Appleby, bassist Will Mecum and drummer Jeff Nelson were picked up by satellite and college radio early in their tenure with the song "Man On A String" garnering national airplay and a #1 chart position at college radio in NYC and a top 15 placement in Los Angeles. The band toured the east coast multiple times and spent time touring Ontario as well before landing a few dates on the Warped Tour.  Their album When We Fight (September 3, 2004) was followed up by an acoustic/electric self-titled (May 2, 2006) release and an independently released album, Arson Is For Lovers in 2009.

Brenna Merritt currently fronts Paper Rabbit.
